Annual pilgrimage to Central Market!

My friend Carlos and I made our annual trek to Central Market this past weekend for the Annual Hatch Chile Festival. Hatch peppers are grown in New Mexico and taste great roasted! I love going to Central Market…this grocery store features an incredible selection of produce, a meat counter, seafood counter, extensive wine and beer collection, countless gourmet food items, a bakery, and my favorite…fresh tortillas! The Hatch Festival takes place in August for two weekends, so if you get a chance check it out!

Tax free shopping and Minigore

We’re out this evening taking advantage of tax free weekend and doing some shopping. While Nichole and Mia try stuff on I’ve been playing Minigore. This is an arcade style shooting game for the iPhone with great graphics and easy to use controls. It also features a great soundtrack… You can even play songs from your iPhone while blasting fuzzies with you shot gun.

Skunks…ah the memories!

Flipping through the channels tonight I found a show called Verminators. Basically, it’s a show about exterminators…one of the story lines on the show featured a skunk infestation. It reminded me of our own encounter with skunks. After returning from vacation a couple of years ago, we heard strange noises under the house. After further investigation we learned that we had moved into our crawlspace while we were away on vacation. Despite our best efforts, our dog, Timber, had a run in with one of the skunks and got sprayed! Fortunately she did not get bitten, so we didn’t have to worry about rabies. Something must have scared the skunks one evening, because one of them sprayed under the house and we had the not-so-sweet aroma of skunk perfume linger for the rest of the night. We borrowed a couple of traps from the city and had great luck in trapping the whole lot of them.

I found this podcast on itunes and it is great. The hosts, Scott and Eric, are engaging and do a great job reviewing the latest and greatest apps for the iPhone. I highly recommend this podcast.
